Although the grasslands are largely flat, there are slight inclines and declines riddled throughout, most too subtle to be noticed. However one particular depression in the steppe houses StormClan's camp, protected from the strong winds of the uplands and the eyes of any predators.
StormClan claims the steppe as its territory. These arid grasslands lie to the South, a yawning expanse of green grass unblemished by trees. Great gusts of wind buffet the tall grasses with near constant frequency, and the air over the plains is parched and dry. There is little rain here, only wind and grass and the endless blue sky up above.
A tree older than the clans themselves stretches itself both above and below, reaching its branches to the top of the forest canopy and its roots throughout the undergrowth. It is within this tangle of roots at the tree's base that ThornClan resides.
A dense wood of pines and firs stands tall and dim, few rays of sunlight reaching the forest floor and fewer yet revealing any creatures within. This is not to say that the forest is empty, but rather that those within it, both clan and otherwise, have the advantage of stealth. This forest is where ThornClan stakes their claim.
MudClan lives in the boggy marshes to the east, an area where the ground is soft and damp and the smell alone is often enough to deter any trespassers. Luckily, MudClan cats aren't afraid of getting a little dirty.
The northernmost of all the territories, FloodClan's extends until the sometimes flowing, sometimes frozen river. Most of their territory is subject to some seasonal flooding, due to the river's proximity, but FloodClan cats are expects at navigating their oftentimes icy lands.
The site of the first leaders' great revelation, these caves are something of a holy site for clan cats. The stone tunnels extend beneath the earth but carry the wind with them, its gusts whispering in the ears of any who enter.
Each of the clans' territories are clearly marked, whether by scent or obvious geographic feature. Still, there are occasionally patrols that coincide or other cross-clan meetings that occur on the outskirts.
