StormClan, the original followers of Storm, pride themselves on their strength, speed, and nobility. StormClan cats are generally characterized by a straightforward manner, which is to say that physical power and general codes of acceptable conduct are preferred to trickery and deception or twisted words. Although these traits are obviously not universal, they are the standards by which StormClan society abides and are therefore are viewed with greater respect. The openness that is valued by StormClan is perhaps symbolized best by their home territory of the steppe, a largely unbroken grassland with few barriers to obscure both prey and predator from view.
ThornClan, the clever and silent forest-dwellers, disappear between tree trunks and bushes and root clusters, catching both their prey and their rivals unawares. Although outright deception is frowned upon, a calculating mind is seen as an asset by most ThornClan cats, and speaking around a topic, speaking in half-truths, is seen as more sophisticated than blunt straightforwardness.
MudClan, the descendants of those foolhardy enough to follow a mad old tom into the swamp, continue to live in the wetlands in what other clans might consider self-imposed ostracism. The cats of MudClan, however, have found a certain freedom in their unconventional style of living. They are unafraid to get a little dirty (or muddy) and have the freedom to be true to themselves, away from the discerning eyes of the other, more judgemental, clans.
FloodClan, the brave pioneers, live furthest northwards, near the often icy river and tumultuous floodplain. Formed from the broken pieces of shattered families fleeing the old fire, FloodClan values bonds that transcend blood, emphasizing community over all else. They would be nothing without each other, and that commitment is enough to sustain them in an otherwise harsh frontier. Optimism is highly valued by FloodClan cats, as without it they would not have made it to where they are today.
